My Fave Monday...Online shoppe

Image
Imagine your LSS (local scrapbook store) online.  That's the only way I can think to explain it.  Think Etsy.com, Zibbit.com, etc...mostly because I can't think of any others right now, but you get the point.  It's not your big box kinda atmosphere. It's personalized service right at your finger tips.  The great thing about buying product from these stores is not just the obvious convenience of buying from your home but the service and products they offer.  I also feel good about helping, for lack of a better term, Mom and Pop type businesses because they cater to their customer, just like my LSS do.  Whether you're looking for the latest trendy product, if that's your thing, or kits to inspire your crafting endeavours, chances are they'll have it.  And if they don't they're more likely to work with you on finding it and or point you in the right direction to get it.  Not so much at say, Michael's, who steal ten dollars from you and act li...

My Fave Monday...Paper Collections

Image
This weeks post goes out the the Collection Pack and all of it's convenient goodness.  I have to say I'm all about the one stop shop, and having a "kit" or collection of papers, all in one place, not only makes it easier to make something but it also takes the guess work out of crafting.  Everything matches.  Some may think of it as a lazy way of doing things but I like to say it's efficient.  Glass full or half empty...you decide.  This is one of my recent collection endeavours.  With so many new product out there in retail land, it's hard to know what's worth your money or not.  I took the plunge on this one and so far, I enjoy each and every page of artistic inspiration.  There is not a bad one in the bunch, so to speak.  So, if you're looking for something new to inspire you.  I highly recommend The Country Garden Collection by BoBunny .  It's simply Spring on paper...beautiful.  I got mine at http://www.etsy.com/sh...

My Fave Monday...Coolest Little Printer

Recently my best friend moved across the country.  I can't even put into words how sad I am that she is not here.  As a friend, I think the most important thing I can do is support her every move in life.  Even if that means it's away from me.  I'm not going to say that it doesn't suck though because it totally does! And, it has completely screwed up my crafting inspiration!  I'm not one of those "social" artists.  I don't go to crops, I don't invite friends over to "craft".   I guess you could say I don't like a whole lot of distraction when I feel like making stuff.  She, on the other hand, is the complete opposite.  She doesn't make something unless she has the company of cool people like me.  I'm most certain that's why it works.  Not only that, she is cool to hang with too! I'm good with one person, maybe two, but I've really got to like the second one!  My best friend is my only crafting friend, so while...

My Fave Monday...Cigar box

Image
I've been preoccupied to say the least these last couple of days.  My birthday is tomorrow.  I've never been one of those who just brushes off a birthday, like it's just another day.  No, I'm the one who celebrates, despite the lingering truth of a childlike, forty year old  residing within!  As usual and as always  I order my white cake with strawberries and whip cream frosting and light up the candle just like I did at twenty five!  Why not, celebrate life?!  Be happy to just be and the fact that I still have two years left...before forty! ;) Besides my birthday, my fave this Monday is my very first and not certainly the last...altered cigar box. I started this project before we started the tile work on our living room floors.  I have to say, I like it, despite the irritating effort it took to take apart the hardware, then patiently put it all back together again.  A simple fact that my recipient will have no clue of, only the co...
